Stupid American

As much as I hate to admit it, I knew a guy who must have been one of the stupidest Americans around. The most ironic thing about this guy was that he was an intelligent person but absolutely had no clue how stupid he was.
This American's stupidity manifested itself in his support for one of two Presidential Candidates.
During the Presidential Race, he listened to both sides and watched their Ads. And, using or not using his God given talent of reasoning, he made a decision to support a specific Candidate. Unfortunately, that decision was stupid.
He actually believed that the potential Leader of this great nation of values would not purposely spin, taint, or tell half truths about the other Candidate. Stupid!
He actually believed that he did not have to do any research on his own given that the News Media would definitely ensure that there was no foul play. In other words, the News Media would establish a "No Spin Zone." Stupid!
He actually believed that fellow citizens would be outraged if there was the slightest hint that a Candidate running for the President of the United States was "Spinning" out of control. Stupid!
You know, it's amazing how smart I have become since the last Presidential Race. My eyes have been opened. I'm no longer that Stupid American.

Kevin you never were a stupid American only a trusting one. We all want and need to have faith and trust in something or someone. Someone or something we can stand with and for. Yet to do that we must have the facts, the truth and hope that your feelings will be justified by facts. I feel the same way. However, when I look at the deeds, the works, what was done and not, what can be and isn't ,I see myself as being taken advantage of, the fool, the stupid one as well. Therein is my hurt. Yet the fool only remains the fool, the stupid one only remained stupid if they never change or recognize they have been duped. To that degree you proved your intelligence. The ability to reason, weigh and decide and not take anything for granted. If we only all could do that this world would be a much better place? Best wishes.
Kevin, I'm with Mogama... I'm a recovering Stupid American and my name is Mark. This was a short but pointed article. I enjoyed it. IWe need to remember that we can't believe everything that people tell us. Hey, why don't you run for office?
Right on Kevin,I too have been in the same class of Stupid American. Not today! I try now to make informed decisions instead of biased opinions. It of course took a couple of hard knocks to wake up.God bless
